Facts and context
We distinguish established information from assertions, uncertainty and opinion. Dates, locations and original context matter. Material imported from another publication must be reviewed for accuracy and reuse rights; publication alone does not establish permission.
Different story formats
Opinion, announcements and obituaries serve different purposes from reported news. Labels identify the available format. Promotional claims should be attributed, and a general offer should not be presented as a guaranteed price or an independently verified recommendation.
Photographs and automated tools
Photographs must have appropriate permission and accurate descriptions. Illustrative images must not be described as on-location reporting. Editing tools can assist preparation, but editorial review remains necessary before publication.
